Pulpcore 3.0.1 is the first bugfix release and contains some significant fixes. See the release notes for all the details. https://docs.pulpproject.org/en/3.0.1/changes.html
Pulpcore 3.0.1 contains only bugfixes and no breaking changes for either users or plugin developers. This means all existing released plugins should be able to upgrade onto pulpcore==3.0.1 without issue. ## New Installations If you are using a new install, you can use the ansible-installer directly and you'll receive 3.0.1. The quick start guides below are useful for that. * pulp_rpm installation -- https://pulp-rpm.readthedocs.io/en/3.0/installation.html * pulp_container installation -- https://pulp-container.readthedocs.io/en/1.0/installation.html * pulp_file installation -- https://pulp-file.readthedocs.io/en/0.1.0/installation.html ## Updating from 3.0.0 For safety reasons, if you rerun the installer exactly as you did before you won't be updated. There are a various scenarios a user may want to rerun the installer, e.g. settings changes, fixing drift, etc, and you wouldn't want to unexpectedly update. Two new boolean variables are added to the installer, `upgrade` (under `pulp_install_plugins`) and `pulp_upgrade`. The former will update the plugin it is specified under; the latter will update pulpcore itself. To update you should: 1. Download the latest installer from https://github.com/pulp/ansible-pulp 2. Set the `pulp_upgrade` variable to `True` 3. Run the installer Note: Later on, additional variables will be added to differentiate updates vs upgrades. ## Quickstart Pulp_rpm offers a quickstart guide (link below) which uses pulplift (link below) to create a not-long-living installation just to try it out. These same instructions can be adapted to the other plugins also. https://pulp-rpm.readthedocs.io/en/3.0/quickstart.html https://github.com/pulp/pulplift ## Migrating from Pulp2 -> Pulp3 A Pulp 2 -> Pulp 3 migration tool is in-progress ( https://github.com/pulp/pulp-2to3-migration ), but not fully available yet. Until it is, users are recommended to **not** install Pulp3 on top of their Pulp2 system until it is available. This tool is progressing well. We hope this tool will be available within a month or two to migrate the plugin types that are released. ## Getting Help or Reporting Bugs Find where to get help or report bugs via the help page on the website ( https://pulpproject.org/help/ ). If you're unsure where to start, we recommend emailing your question to the Pulp user mailing list ( https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/pulp-list ). ## Feedback Let us know what you think! Please send feedback to either: * Pulp user mailing list -- https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/pulp-list * Pulp developer mailing list -- https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/pulp-dev ## Thanks! Thank you to all the developers, integrators, testers, and users who have contributed to this bugfix release.
