The oFono backend is required for HFP, the native backend is required for HSP.
The default backend is not "auto". The default backend is "native" when the
native backend is enabled at build time, otherwise it's "ofono". I don't
remember why "auto" is not the default.

The comment you refer to implies that "auto" is required to have both A2DP and
HSP/HFP working. I don't know what's going on there. A2DP should be always
supported.
