Hello.

I have noticed some ports in my "pactl list cards" output, that I
think should not be there.

1. iec958-stereo-input on my webcam
This one is very likely an alsa-lib thing. See
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-lib/+bug/1002952 for more
information.

2. analog-output on my analog card (because this should be already
covered by analog-output-lineout)

Attached are the "pactl list cards" output and pulseaudio verbose log.
Hmm, I thought Tanu fixed a few of these bugs - or were the patches
never merged? Tanu?
The patches were merged, and manual inspection of the path files
indicates that analog-output should be detected as a subset of
analog-output-lineout.

Hmm, looking at cards.txt now, analog-output is only part of profiles
with the analog-surround-21 mapping. It seems that unlike other surround
mappings, analog-surround-21 doesn't contain the analog-output-lineout
path. I don't see any reason why there should be mismatch between 2.1
and other surround mappings, so either analog-output-lineout should be
added to analog-surround-21 or removed from the other surround profiles.
I'm not sure which would be better. If I had to choose, I'd add it to
analog-surround-21, because I haven't heard any problems regarding the
lineout path in the other surround mappings.

Good catch. My vote is for adding analog-output-lineout path to the 2.1
profile. Alexander, does that resolve your problem?

Yes, it does.
