Whoops, I forgot to include information on how to load it. Here are the relevant sections from my default.pa:
.ifexists module-dbus-protocol.so load-module module-dbus-protocol .endif load-module module-native-protocol-unix ... . ifexists module-gconf.so .nofail load-module module-gconf .fail .endif load-module module-equalizer-sink sink_name=equalized master=alsa_output.pci_8086_284b_sound_card_0.analog-stereo set-default-sink equalized Of course you will probably need to change the master sink line to whatever your master sink is (I discover mine from paman).
