 It would be useful to be able to simply switch off a stream in the volume
 controller. This is particularly useful if there are more than one RTP
 streams on the network.

 What this should mean is that no work gets done with regards to that
 stream, which, again, probably matter most for the RTP receive module, but
 also means that a user setting the volume on a 'disabled' stream to
 something other than 100% shouldn't burn cycles doing nothing.

 If directing to a null sink happens to be functionally equivalent, then
 perhaps all that's needed is a null sink included in the default
 configuration.
