---------------------------------------- Bug #1601: Documentation request: example for recurse http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/show/1601 Author: jerico Status: Duplicate Priority: Normal Assigned to: Category: Target version: Complexity: Unknown Affected version: 0.24.4 Keywords: See the following IRC transcript: [13:43] shay: I would like to use the Puppet fileserver to serve multiple directories to differente servers, where can I find documentation regarding how to server a whole directory? ... [13:45] shay: I just found examples and explainations of how to share a single file, not a whole directory. [13:50] nasrat: you want source and recurse => true ... [13:51] nasrat: where source is your directory, but that is in the type reference, although an example in the recurse section would make it clearer ... [13:53] jerico: nasrat: I agree that an example would be great. I had the same question some days ago and resolved it through trial & error. ... [13:54] jerico: It seems that there is some permissions magic done as well, right? If I set mode to 644, my directories get 755 automatically through recurse. [13:55] jerico: Only the files get 644. This is actually desired behaviour in my case but I didn't find it documented and wouldn't know how to switch it off once I need it. [13:57] nasrat: can one of you file a bug asking for an example for the description of file with recurse ... [14:02] jerico: nasrat, shay: I'll do that. ---------------------------------------- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
