Issue #2389 has been updated by Brice Figureau.

Status changed from Accepted to Ready for Testing

Please find a patch for this language feature (without the hash left hand side
stuff) in the tickets/master/2389 branch of my github repository:

http://github.com/masterzen/puppet/tree/tickets/master/2389

Testing and feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Feature #2389: Support for hashes in puppet language
http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2389

Author: Peter Meier
Status: Ready for Testing
Priority: Normal
Assigned to: Brice Figureau
Category: language
Target version: Rowlf
Affected version: 0.25.0
Keywords:
Branch:

The puppet language should support hashes, so it's possible to pass hashes to
resources. For example:

$interface1['ifname'] = 'eth0'
$interface1['ip'] = '192.168.1.1'

$interface2['ifname'] = 'eth1'
$interface2['ip'] = '192.168.2.1'

cobbler_system { foobar:
  ...
  interfaces => [ $interface1, $interface2 ]
}

it should also be possible to create hashes very easily:

$interface1 = {
  ifname => 'eth0',
  ip => '192.168.1.1
}

the proposed syntax should be seen as an example and can be tuned...
