Issue #13027 has been reported by Josh Cooper.

----------------------------------------
Bug #13027: Windows service can get into an infinite loop
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/13027

Author: Josh Cooper
Status: Accepted
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Josh Cooper
Category: windows
Target version: 2.7.x
Affected Puppet version: development
Keywords:
Branch:

While researching this issue
<http://groups.google.com/group/puppet-users/browse_thread/thread/359461c6b46ce027?hl=en>
 I accidentally created an MSI containing the 2.6.x version of puppet. When the
service starts, it tries to execute:

<pre>
runinterval = %x{ "#{puppet}" config print runinterval }.to_i
</pre>

The config option is not valid is 2.6.x, so runinterval was getting set to 0.
As a result, the service would attempt to launch puppet agent --onetime,
sleeping 0 seconds in between.

The service code should be more robust so that this sort of issue doesn't
happen. Note this code is in the puppet_for_the_win repo, not puppet itself.
