# RFC - Semver question Eric, Since this was targeted at 1.6.x in the issue tracker, I went ahead and merged it into 1.6.x for release in 1.6.15. However, I notice this is adding new, backwards compatible functionality in the form of new `mtu_ethX` and `mtu_lo` facts rather than fixing a bug in the 1.6 series. Do you think we should have merged this into 1.7.x instead? I don't think it's worth reverting the change in 1.6.x and reverting the revert in 1.7.x at this point, I ask you and everyone else in an effort to get it right the next time around if I did it wrong this time.
