Eric Thompson commented on PUP-3635   Re: Add a scanf function for string to numeric conversion (and more) looks like the spec tests can handle testing this. puppet scanf() is just pulling in results from ruby's scanf, so probably not a lot of benefit in testing operator range or edge cases for upstream... i suppose at some-point some parser tests to minimally test at functional level would be good...
