same time was trying not to harass you guys about a bug on a slightly
related thread :)

Meh, either way. It'd actually be wicked-easy to fix. Do something like:

Puppet::Resource::Catalog.terminus = :rest
Puppet::Resource::Catalog.find("mynode")

Pretty much done for catalog compiling, and a reasonable template for most of the rest.
