The overt effect (serialization failure from the truncation) here is fixed in the upcoming 2.6.0 (and should be good in 0.25.5 as well, due to a workaround), but the root cause, search path truncation, is not addressed.
Does anyone know why puppet truncates paths to 256 characters, or where?
