Preliminary appearance is that the second is an actual loop (grabbing the
wrong class) that wouldn't have been reported in 0.25.x (though it would
have produced the wrong results, if the analysis is correct)).  If this
holds up, the key problem is really that the message isn't helpful in
diagnosing it.
