Having a ticket with a github branch on it makes merging code and tracking work that needs to be done a lot easier. However, I'm guessing your change might be really small since it's just some syntax highlighting changes for ext/vim/syntax/puppet.vim, so if you even have the time to submit a patchfile to the dev list we'll try to merge that in too. It's just that things that go to the email list without a ticket in Redmine are more likely to get lost in the shuffle and not merged in. Either way, thanks for thinking to contribute something back.
