Yeah.  I was torn about this: the bug report that drove it was that we
were failing in completely unrelated code because it coincidentally
looked at the list of all faces, but I worry that it will make the
failure modes less obvious.

Limiting the capture to the face, and only the face, that was
requested is a compromise to help with that, but I wonder if there is
some better way to solve the bigger problem.  I just can't work out
quite what that is...
