But somehow I felt that wasn't what I was doing back then and searched again, this time I found immediately what I didn't find searching for an hour before: http://www.rustyrazorblade.com/2010/04/puppet-stand-alone-templates-configs/ so, you(or, I ;) ) have to run puppet site.pp directly from /etc/puppet/manifests Now I'm checking if I even could run that somehow if the manifests/modules/... structure is somewhere else, e.g. on an nfs mount.
