For some reason, Puppet needs the class to be in the autoloader even if you don't use it or you run into this exact situation. I think there's a bug filed in the Puppet Redmine about it. If there's not there should be ;-). Try just declaring the class somewhere that the autoloader will pick it up and just not using it. Unfortunately, I don't currently know of a way around this.
