These exceptions are due to https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/12833. OSX 10.8 changed how password hashes are generated. We've fixed this in 3.0.x, it would be great if you could give that a try in preparation for 3.0.2. > > Note that running as a regular user works fine... just not as root.
