I ran this test using brothfromusb on eee701, and had no problem
following yr instructions to load and play an 11 minute mp3 (off an SD
card). But after 20 or so seconds of playback it stopped (visibly and
audibly). Gui controls seemed to still work but I couldn't get it to
play any further. Is that the bug?

Hm then I rebooted and tried again, and when I selected my file it
didn't even appear in the waveform window, never playable - sounds
even more like yr bug.

in the last dev iso I tried (downloaded Sun 9 around 00:00), mixxx won't run!

it just seg faults,

I tested my sound card, it works fine with other software (puredata)

anyway, i noticed it's a very old version of mixxx (1.6.1), I would be more
than happy to test the latest (1.7.1) if you build it.

I know there was a problem with libportaudio until 9.04, hopefully it is solved
in 9.10
