running broth I get this in dmesg:

after that k3b reports no burner device found and spits dbus warnings to
stderr:

Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(const
Solid::DeviceInterface::Type&) error:
"org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown"
workaround: sudo restart hal && sleep for a few mins && k3b
then k3b works fine
