application launch keyboard shortcuts not working (<Meta>?)

Bug description:
In Settings > Keyboard > Application Shortcuts, it shows that xterm should be
launchable using <Control><Meta>Return but that's not happening for me (Eee
701). This is with the default keymapping (us) and also after running
"setxkbmap gb".
These ones work for me: <Alt>F2 (xfrun4); <Control>Escape (xfce4-popup-menu),
... any that don't involve <Meta> I think. (Meta on the Eee being a key near
the lower left with a pic of a house on it, pretty sure that's right.)
