if it was up to me then i'd have participated to the Debian re-build,
but I simply wasn't included in the team (puredyne-t...@goto10.org)
and the funding that p:d received in 2008. but no worries! meanwhile
i've also found solutions to support dyne.org developments and today
i'm very happy pure:dyne exists as it is, while we continued keeping
our achievements complementary and useful for all of us.

would you now be interested in submitting p:d for a review by the
Linux-Libre folks at FSF? once done, this would entitle pure:dyne to
be listed as "100% Free" in the GNU project documentation. it might
require some little changes: surely not the removal of codecs as mp3
since Lame "ain't an mp3 encoder" , its implementation is GNU GPL and
software patents aren't valid in Europe - but for instance the removal
of stuff like proprietary video drivers and closed-source firmware
blobs.

the rationale is not just that of staying "clean", but also that we'll
never make people aware of what freedom is and why is needed, if we
hide the fact that a lot of hardware is still sold as a "black box",
taking away user's rights.

ciao
