I'm running 20 nodes cluster here, unicast. I think if you have switch with big asic, and small latency, you can do it better.
I'm currently testing corosync 3, with the new protocol knet, it should help too for bigger cluster. (should be the default for proxmox6). Docs talk about 32 nodes: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Cluster_Manager I think that the current aproach for cluster info is an advantage of Proxmox, because it's resilient and very easy to setup.
