Is there any interest in being able to configure the MTU settings for the BMI-level devices via a config-file parameter?

For my current IB setup, I can get roughly 1/3rd (2Gbit/s+) better performance by using an MTU of 2048 instead of the default of 1024, so we do have a use for larger mtu's here. At this point the value is hardcoded in the BMI devices, and would require a rebuild of the binaries, so there would need to be some work done to get this to work for each of the transport devices. It would be an interesting endeavor to see the different performance implications this might bring about.

Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there.
