Hi all,

The noncontig test allowed me to use PVFS2 within MPICH2-MX for the first time. In this scenario, a single process opens two MX endpoints, one for MPICH2 and one for PVFS2. It is common that a user MPI job will run a process per core, which means that MX will need to provide 2*number of cores endpoints. By default, MX provides 8 endpoints and the system administrator can increase that to 16 when loading MX.

Do other BMI methods open two endpoints per process or does PVFS2 have a means to share the endpoint from MPICH2?

Thanks,

Scott
