Hi Jiang, As Rob mentioned there is no plan to utilize the compute nodes memory as a cache for general purpose accesses. I am still testing a patch that will utilize the page-cache efficiently for immutable files (i.e. files that are explicitly tagged as not being changed). Hopefully, once I am done and it is reviewed, it should be possible to cache files that are not being modified.. Likewise, using the page-cache for buffering requires a little bit more infrastructure and will be an opt-in feature rather than a general purpose thing. However this is likely going to take a while ... thanks, Murali

HI Murali, I want to know Is the new release pvfs-2.6.0 use the compute-nodes cache? I have some tests on pvfs-2.6.0, the compute-nodes cache seems not use,the IO on compute-nodes seems still use write through policy. When the compute-nodes will use memery cache maybe with the write back policy? Thanks so much.
