Is the striping of pvfs faster than local file I/O, or is there a mirroring capability? As far as I could tell, the tuning document does not mention any mirroring option. I have not been able to do performance testing yet with pvfs vs. local file I/O. I first tried pvfs with MPICH2, and I was getting crashes when sending data between nodes (regardless of whether I used pvfs or local files). Then I tried openmpi, but I could not get that to work with pvfs. I ended up just going with local files and openmpi so I could get the test running. I had to put it on the back burner for a while, but I'm able to spend more time on this now so I'd like to revisit using pvfs. Kind regards, Patrick
