Not development related, but I'm hoping y'all can help... I've got a PWC camera (Logitech QuickCam 4000 Pro) that works fine normally.
One of our new projects requires a run of 120 feet or so from the computer to the camera. I'm using an IOGear extender to do this over CAT5 cable. This works fine wiht a 90' cable, but that is just a tad too short to use in this instance. So we got a different IOGear extender that claims 197 feet... At first, the system (Debian) would load the module and detect the camera, and create the /dev/video0 dev entry. However, if I tried to take a pic, it wouldn't be able to connect. Contacted IOGear, they recommended a powered USB hub between the computer and the adapter. So I've got that. Now when I try and take a pic, I get an ioctl error from streamer (the app I'm using to take the pic): streamer -c /dev/video0 -s 640x480 -o foo.jpeg files / video: JPEG (JFIF) / audio: none ioctl: VIDIOC_S_FMT(type=VIDEO_CAPTURE;fmt.pix.width=640;fmt.pix.height=480;fmt.pix.pixelformat=0x32315559 [YU12];fmt.pix.field=ANY;fmt.pix.bytesperline=0;fmt.pix.sizeimage=460800;fmt.pix.colorspace=unknown;fmt.pix.priv=0): Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character Oops: ratio size renegotiation failed Checking the output of dmesg, I see that the camera is connecting and disconnecting and being re-recognized, and I also have: usb 1-2.3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice pwc: Logitech QuickCam 4000 Pro USB webcam detected. pwc: Registered as /dev/video0. pwc: Failed to set video mode [EMAIL PROTECTED] fps; return code = -84 In my dmesg output. Any ideas? Thanks!
