as posted earlier in the 1.1 raodmap notes i just did the
re-licensing to LGPL, also added an FAQ entry, see e.g. here:

Let me know if you have any issues with this - preferably
practical ones. I think i am somewhat familiar with the usual
pro/con arguments for BSD/GPL style licenses so there is no
need to repeat those. But i don't have a totally fixed
opinion.
