As I said before, in the message that started this thread, I use Twisted
2.1.0, running on FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE i386.

I installed Twisted from TwistedSumo-2005-11-06. I see now that in the
meantime, a port called twistedCore, v2.4.0 has appeared in the FreeBSD ports
tree. Not sure whether I should go through the hassle of upgrading again?
Since I don't know Python, I had a lot of trouble trying to get different apps
that rely on different versions of Twisted to work on this server.

Let's see what Twisted packages does FreeBSD have in the ports tree right now:

Would I be better off installing some of these packages instead of
TwistedSumo-2.1.0?

so, I'm playing with my contacts in Psi and I notice that one of my
Yahoo contacts is online. she hasn't been online for ages.

come to think of it *none* of my Yahoo contacts have been online for ages.

I have Google Talk simultaneous logged in. she still appears offline.

conclusion: I think the status notifications on the Yahoo transport
may have some issues with the Google Talk client...

just a heads-up really.

hope you're all good,

mmm, confirmed, it's crap. This must have been a change on the gtalk
side, because I don't remember changing the transport *confused*

Which Yahoo transport? There's a kajillion out there, and you don't mention
the transport's JID. If it's mine, I'd like to know so I can provide
additional help.

Google Talk does not run any transports.

Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Dear all,

After i updated pymsnt to 0.11.2-dev2, i get some strange error.
I can register the transport and login smoothly.
And also i can communicate with MSN Live Messenger perfectly.

However, i can't communicate with another transport user. (Both are jabber
users and using pymsnt)
And i get the following msg from the sender:

===========================================
This message could not be delivered. Please check that the contact is online,
and that their address on your contact list is correct.
===========================================

And, I get the log from pymsnt (Log level = 3)

Well, I'd like to think that Twisted 2.4 would handle kqueue better,
but I don't know from experience.

PyMSNt tries to be Twisted version agnostic. It should run with any
released version of Twisted since 1.3.0 that you can throw at it.
However if you have other apps depending on particular versions, it
might be best to just leave things as they are.

Correct, that's why people use transports on other servers.

I got hold of Sandeep on gtalk, and he has been using yahoo.jabber.no
- PyYIMt, CVS 1.44 (jabber.no is ejabberd 1.1.1)

I think that maybe google have changed the way auth works, because
even though the contact doesn't appear online, you can still chat to
the person (which wouldn't work if auth wasn't there - because the
spam filter would block the messages). Either that or something is
broken in recent CVS changes (which is also possible)

Is anyone else experiencing this problem with PyYIMt - what versions
are you running?

After upgrade my twisted to 2.4.0, PyICQt stopped to work and PyMSNt
started to crash. I back to 1.3.0 and everything is working really
fine here.
