Hi all,
I'm using ejabberd with py*-t-transports and after a big struggle with
Gentoo-ebuilds and the transports itself all is working fine now. But
there is one issue left: with pymsn-t defaultAvatar isn't displayed. I'm
not sure how to debug this so I want to ask for help here.

Id did some clean for BreakMyGentoo.net [1] and submitted them to
bugzilla also to bugzilla [2].

Forget to say: if you use ebuilds from BMG from now on you're on the
bright side of the transport-hell.

Well, that might have been an overstatement. It starts and such, but there are
a few serious problems.
I can communicate with some contacts, both sending and recieving while other
aren't working as good. That is not any different to ICQ in general.
Other contacts seem to recieve messages just fine while their messages to me
give the following in the log:
grep -i exception /var/log/jabber/pyicq-t
[2006-03-06 08:31:28] --- <exception caught here> ---
[2006-03-06 08:31:28] exceptions.NameError: global name 'repl' is not defined

exceptions.NameError: global name 'repl' is not defined
[2006-03-06 08:31:28] B: connectionLost: ICQ connection lost! Reason: [Failure
instance: Traceback: exceptions.NameError, global name 'repl' is not defined
and then I am disconnected/logged off. Any messages that causes an event that
gives an exception is quite serious if you ask me.

I should note that this error probably isn't related to twisted, but it is
still a serious problem for me. Though the original question still remains.
James has updated pymsnt several times to work with all versions of twisted
and even got it in the release notes, but I can't find any official
information about twisted and pyicq-t. Should all versions work with pyicq-t
too?

Add the ability to exclude a certain IP range from ftSizeLimit and
ftRateLimits. This would be especially useful for a transport that's
used on a network that has both external and internal users.
Idealy you want to limit connections to the outside world, so that
they don't abuse the bandwidth etc, but connections where both
endpoints are internal shouldn't be limited.

I'm still getting:
Failed to connect to MSN servers: [Failure instance: Traceback:
exceptions.ImportError: No module named kqsyscall
--- <exception caught here> ---

/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/twisted/internet/kqreactor.py:69:?
]
not sure if this has been fixed in my build (I just updated to rev 123
after the bug).
Would there be any way to put the svn rev in the iq:version response?
(I'm thinking some sort of svn magic, might need to be run-time)

Ack, you are running 0.7 then. Ok, that's been fixed in what will be
0.7a. There are, as always, some known issues with the current SVN,
but I'm going to release 0.7a and 0.7c of pyaim today and that will
fix this problem you are seeing. Stay tuned!
