I'm trying to get file transfer to work through the PyMSNt
service, but have not been successful, and am requesting some
enlightenment.

Setup:
servers: several jabberd (1.4.4); one server has PyMSNt-0.11a &
Internet access.
clients: have used any of [gaim, psi, jeti, spark]
os: Fedora[1,3]

What works:
Can send jabber msgs among all clients and to/from MS/hotmail.com.
Can send file transfer in-band using Jeti among my clients.
Can send file transfer via port 8010 using Psi among my clients.

What does not work:
File transfer to/from MS/hotmail.com

So, I have these questions:

Q: Do I need proxy65/SOCKS5 installed as a service on the
gateway server? I ran the g/w server both with and without the
proxy65 service, but file transfer didn't work. I'm not sure if
I was doing it right.

Q: Does PyMSNt only make tcp connections outbound? Are they on
port 8010, or is that just a jabber convention? What firewall
ports need to be opened inbound and outbound? (I take it that
means all of ns[12345].msft.net.?)

Q: If I enable ftOOBPort, does MS/hotmail.com do an HTTP GET to
there? Does the name of the server running the PyMSNt need to
be DNS-resolvable from 'the Internet'? Does msn.myserver.com
need to be DNS-resolvable from 'the Internet'?

Thanks,

Wendell
