I'm wondering if anybody (hoping Daniel in particular) knows what might be at the root of a strange glitch I'm seeing.

I'm running an instance of PyAIM-t (and I've tried a couple of different versions) on a client's network. When I send messages from an AIM client logged directly into AIM to a jabber client logged in through PyAIM-t, messages arrive immediately (I'm running both clients myself). When send a message in the opposite direction (from Jabber, through PyAIM-t, to a standard AIM client), there is a significant lag in the arrival of the message.

It seems a message experiencing this lag will eventually arrive on its own (5-10 seconds), but if I type something into the AIM client's window, then the message then arrives immediately. I know this symptom occurs with both PyAIM-t 0.8 and PyAIM-t 0.7c.

I don't experience this behavior with PyAIM-t running on another host on another network. I don't experience anything like this with iChat in other circumstances (and I use it fairly extensively to communicate over AIM). With PyAIM-t on running on a host at the client's network, I do experience the problem with both iChat (AIM client, OS X) and Fire (AIM client, OS X).

Any insights, guesses, or definitive solutions would be most, most welcome.

Thanks in advance,
