I totally agree here, and that is what mabber will do (and already does). Jabber already has way too much "semifinal" software projects, and we dont see any point in creating another one - mabber already released some minor patches and bugreports for py*t. Same applies to other jabber software like ejabberd: http://blog.mabber.com/eintrag.php?id=34 In other words: We will of course use and enhance Py*t where it is useful.
