Also, can this transport be made to work more like the others any time  
soon? To have it startable from an init.d script like the others, if I  
can make it work, and hopefully less prone to crashing, will enable me  
to consider merging a couple of machines. pyaimt, pyicqt any pymsnt  
work quite acceptably.
