Ok, I get it now. I was not aware that you were running vim, not
gvim, although this should have been obvious since your log file says:

    vim  INFO    Vim argv list: ['/usr/bin/vim', '-nb', '-S',
'/tmp/vimscriptW6_n4q.clewn']

Also, you are running vim 7.2 (as told by the log file) and this
version of vim does not support netbeans when vim is run in a
terminal. This is only possible since vim 7.3, and vim 7.3 is only 2
months old.

So yes, if you want to use vim in a terminal, right now you need to
build vim 7.3 from source as you just did, until this version is
packaged by ubuntu.
