Searching for FastPythonPartitionScanner only turns up one hit, in FastPythonPartitionScanner.java. Who instantiates this scanner?
I thought that I had downloaded a ZIP file of all the source code from SourceForge, following a link from pydev.org. However, some code must be missing from that ZIP file. For example, the pydev.core directory tree is not there. I then found another ZIP file that was twice as large and included the core directory and some others, but still no luck in searching on FastPythonPartitionScanner.
