Now this is odd.... Comparing the PYTHONPATHs showed that the command line path and the PyDev paths were identical. So, I recreated the interpreter using the Auto Config option. Now it seems to be working (Import error went away with no adding to forced builtins). Moving back to a manual config, I can't get the problem to resurface.
