For 6, I understand your point (what you want is more a shell, which has 2 
modes,
one for copy/paste and another for the input). If you want you can add that
as a feature request (but I must say it's not pretty high in the priorities
overall)

For 10, actually, I think they could if they wanted... (I believe they have
to make the whole wrapping to make things available for Jython -- especially
being in the import construct).

For 12, you can add a 'string substitution variable' on pydev, which is 
configured
per-interpreter (a bit more flexible than global, as you can just change your
interpreter and it'll get it, but if you have a variable that you really wanted
to be global, you'll have to configure it in all interpreters)
