using the "us-ascii" character encoding in the headers... which causes
things like the dash in the page title, and the paragraph mark "link to this

server is just guessing the content type based on the filename.
You are exactly right; I have now added
AddCharset utf-8 .ascii
to the docs config. Thanks for pointing that out. Perhaps this entire
content negotiation should be disabled.
