I'm very close to commiting a cleanup to the experimental folder. 
Basically, almost everything is being deleted due to being merged into the 
main codebase already, or being so old that it doesn't work anymore. (Of 
course, the code will still remain in the older maintenance branches). 

If there are no objections from anyone, we can merge this in. I think your 
current pull request is actually pointing back at your own repository, so 
you might need to re-do it.
