I'd be happy to help patch this up too, but better ask first in case the current method is preferable. It'd ideally be reflected in documentation, tutorials and examples too, such as this one <http://pyglet.readthedocs.io/en/pyglet-1.3-maintenance/programming_guide/gl.html#the-opengl-interface> .
