There's actually a bug open for this that was considered for the freeze but eventually left out; Iņaki wrote the patch that is up at: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81879 jpe, Johan and I have commented on it -- maybe others should chime in too. The issue I raised was "fear of namespace conflicts" that would be introduced by this, but I think it's rather minor.
