about my last email:

I've compared the matplotlib._path.pyd with the one generated by py2exe
(taht works with python2.6)
They are bit ot bit equivalent.
So I suspect more an issue with imp.load_module function?

mod = imp.load_module(nm, fp, attempt, (ext, mode, typ))

Will continue testing things :)
If you've got any idea in the meantime, you are welcome ;)
