Hi Giovanni,
I am planning to do various tests on package built by pyinstaller.
Here are the summery:
Package Environment:
Ubuntu "hardy" 8.04(glibc 2.7)
pyinstaller (latest from trunk)
Python 2.6.5r5 (compiled from sources)
wxPython 2.8.10.1(compiled from sources, static build)
Cairo 1.8.8(compiled from sources)
Pixman 0.18.0(compiled from sources)
PyCairo 1.8.8(compiled from sources)
These are the list of distros that I'll be using for tests:
1. ubuntu karmic 9.10 (x86_64, x64)
2. Fedora 12 (x86_64, x64)
3.openSUSE 11.2 (x86_64, x64)
4. Debian 5.0 (x86_64, x64)
Tests:
1. Check if package works on distros without making any changes.
(bootloader compiled using gcc)
2. Check if package works on distros without making any changes.
(bootloader compiled using lsb)
3. Check the necessity of non pythonic libraries.(libX*.* etc.)
4. Create package using UPX and test.
5. Check if package built on x86_64 architecture runs on x64. if not
then check again after installing ia32-libs.
Let me know if you have some thing to test or any suggestions.
It sounds fine.
BTW, I have not seen the LSB patch. Are you planning to contribute it?
