This is not naive question and it should be documented in manual.

files in a.datas should be in the following format:
[ ('fileondisk', 'path_started_rom_meipass2'),
('another_file', 'path_started_rom_meipass2'),
]
If a.datas won't work, you can try to create your import hook.
