Hello, I am trying to add files to a package that was included in my
installation at runtime. My installation is script that does some code
generation and writes the generated code (Python files) to a package
directory in one of the modules that is included in my PyInstaller
installation that also includes the main script.

>From within the script, I can get the location of the target installed
module like so:

# returns e.g.,  /var/folders/k4/.../my_module
my_module_path = util.find_spec('my_module').submodule_search_locations[0]

I think I fundamentally don't understand something about the installation
file structure, because no files can be read or written to the location
above. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!
Chris
