Anecdotal evidence from my laptop (with examples hosted by apache on my laptop) show that it takes about 0.5s to load/initialize the javascript. This 0.5s comes from the time it takes before the app downloads history.html. Also, this is without caching as I turned it of on my development machine. Therefore, I agree with Anthony stated.
