Yea, it sounds like having everything in a tarball would help, but since this is an issue with easy_install *ignoring* dependencies and not installing them, I doubt changing where easy_install is ignoring them from would help much. :)

I ask about using the go-pylons script because the setuptools we have inside it is the *latest* one.

The entire purpose of the go-pylons script is to help alleviate issues with outdated virtualenv/setuptools since we can insure that when someone uses the go-pylons script *as we instruct them to* by using the *latest* one off our site, we can bypass these issues of old setuptools/virtualenv which may be causing Noah's problem here.
