FWIW, colour was explicitly /not/ an original feature of the design.

The akhet is a full-on hieroglyph and its orthography alone has a
high
recognition factor, very familiar in incised form or as a relief:

(an akhet can be seen in col 1, just above the "fold")

I don't know when the colour=yellow criterion was added but if that
is
to remain a feature of the akhet-as-Pylons-logo, then a corresponding
RGB value should probably be specified.

Personally, I see the colour constraint as an unnecessary restriction
on the
otherwise drop-dead easy use of the glyph independent of foreground or
background colour combo.

(I'm afraid that I really don't like the current lemon-on-a-soapdish
used in
the PylonsHQ livery. The akhet is a glyph and the circle is an
important
characteristic to preserve.)
